Obverse description Rectangular brown Böttger stoneware plaque with a suspension hole at the top. The field bears a multi-line inscribed legend in relief identifying the XI. Berg- und Hüttenmännischer Tag, dated 21–23.5.1959, with the text BERGAKADEMIE along the left border and FREIBERG/SACHSEN along the right border. The Meissen crossed-swords mark appears in relief at the bottom of the field.

Reverse description Rectangular brown Böttger stoneware plaque with a suspension hole at the top. A right-facing bust portrait of Alexander von Humboldt in high relief dominates the field. The name ALEXANDER VON HUMBOLDT is inscribed along the left and lower borders, with his birth and death dates 1769–1859 along the right border.
