Reverse description Central field displays a plain Greek cross with wide, squared arms, nearly filling the flan, typical of the Cristo (Christ) cross motif used on Portuguese colonial copper coinage of the early sixteenth century. The cross is rendered in a bold, incuse-relief style consistent with hammered production at the Goa mint. On the variant type (J3 03.02), the cross is replaced by the letter 'R', serving as a mint or denomination mark. No legend or border inscription is present; the irregular flan edge forms the natural boundary of the design.
