| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned shield of Bern bearing the diagonal bear passant, set within a beaded inner circle with a displayed eagle above the shield. The surrounding legend reads MONETA BERNENSIS with the date, rendered in Antiqua script and separated by decorative stops.
