Obverse description Central shield bearing the bear of Bern passant, rendered in Gothic heraldic style, set within a beaded inner circle. An imperial eagle displayed surmounts the shield at the top of the field. The date 1532 appears in the upper legend area flanking the eagle. The circumferential legend in Gothic script reads MONETA BERNENSIS, with the mint numeral 3Z appended, all contained between two beaded borders.
