Obverse description Central shield bearing the arms of Colmar — a diagonal band (bend) charged with a key — flanked by two rampant lions as supporters, all rendered in low relief within a beaded inner circle. The date 1666 appears prominently above the shield within the inner circle. A continuous Latin legend runs between the inner beaded circle and the milled outer border, reading clockwise from the top.

Reverse description A displayed double-headed imperial eagle, with both heads crowned and wings spread, occupies the central field within a beaded inner circle. A small crown surmounts the eagle at the top of the inner circle.
