THIS MARKED THE FIRST ENGAGEMENT BETWEEN IRONCLADS AND REVOLU- -TIONIZED NAVAL WARFARE. ★ SOME OF THE PARTS WERE FABRICATED IN BUFFALO AND IN TROY, N.Y.
