Obverse description A kneeling Swiss soldier in period costume is depicted in high relief at center, clutching a large Swiss heraldic shield with both arms while a pike or halberd extends diagonally across the field. The legend MARIGNANO arcs along the left rim and the date 13.9.1515 appears at upper right, with the engraver's signature PEKA and fineness mark 0.900 inscribed in the lower field.
