| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the Barberini papal coat of arms within an ornate cartouche, displaying three bees arranged in heraldic fashion — the distinctive emblem of the Barberini family of Pope Urban VIII. The shield is surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys of Saint Peter, flanked by elaborate decorative scrollwork. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, identifying the pontiff and his regnal year. The overall design reflects the refined Baroque engraving style characteristic of the Roman mint under Urban VIII. |
