Obverse description A winged female angel in high relief tends to a semi-nude male figure lying on the ground, holding a flame or torch aloft in her raised right hand. The legend LATEAT SCINTILLULA FORSAN arcs around the upper field, with the date M.DCCC.XXXI in the lower exergue, separated by a horizontal line. The engraver's signature B. WYON F. appears at lower right.
