Obverse description The arms of Cape Town displayed on a quartered shield, featuring three fleurs-de-lis in the upper half and a lion passant with rings in the lower half, flanked on either side by rope-entwined anchors. A ribbon below the shield bears the motto legend, with the circular inscription running around the outer field. A small engraver's signature appears at the base of the shield.
