Obverse description Two crossed Japanese Rising Sun flags, one a standard infantry flag and the other a fringed military ensign, tied together at the shafts with a decorative cord and tassels. Above the flags, a large chrysanthemum rosette surmounted by an imperial eagle emblem is depicted in relief against a plain field, all within a raised rim.
