Reverse description The upper portion of the reverse features the arms of the South Eastern Railway — a heraldic shield flanked by two sea-dragon supporters with the motto ONWARD on a ribbon below. A central banner bears the engraved recipient name GEORGE KIPPS. In the lower field, a circular medallion contains a left-facing bearded portrait bust of E.W. Watkin, labelled CHAIRMAN, within a decorative foliate surround. The surrounding legend along the oval border records the jubilee commemoration of the railway.
