Obverse description Scotia seated right on a plinth, wearing a mural crown and classical robes, extending a laurel wreath in her right hand. An owl in relief decorates the plinth base, with industrial and artistic objects scattered in the foreground; Glasgow Cathedral and a large building appear in the background, flanking a harbour scene with sailing vessels. The engraver's signature 'G. MOORE F.' appears on the plinth.
