Obverse description Uniformed bust of Major-General Sir George Pollock, G.C.B., Bengal Artillery, in left-facing profile, wearing military uniform with epaulettes and decorations, set within a polished field. A circular legend surrounds the bust, with the text arranged in a continuous band reading clockwise from the top, enumerating his eminent services during the 1842 Afghan campaign. The engraver's signature 'B. WYN S.' appears below the truncation.
