Obverse description St. George on horseback in high relief, wearing a helmet and billowing cloak, wielding a sword downward toward a writhing dragon beneath the horse's hooves. The Latin motto legend curves around the upper periphery, with the date 1859 positioned in the lower field. Maker's mark C.S. & CO. appears in the exergue.
