Obverse description High-relief left-facing bust of Colonel William Henry Sykes, depicted as an elderly bearded gentleman with swept-back hair, set against a flat field. The legend arches around the periphery, and the engraver's signature 'J.S. WYON SC.' appears in small incuse letters at the base of the truncation.
