Obverse description The arms of St Bees School displayed on a quartered shield, featuring a cross and sword on the dexter side and woodpeckers (or similar birds) on the sinister, set within an ornate sexfoil frame with hatched diaper background panels, floral and fruit motifs at the sides, and a dove carrying an olive branch at the top. The school motto on a ribbon banner below reads EXPECTA DOMINUM. The border is decorated with small cross ornaments.
