| Obverse description | Three-quarter bust of Captain Robert Falcon Scott facing left, wearing naval uniform and peaked cap, framed by an open laurel wreath in the lower field. A horizontal band across the middle field bears the expedition dates JANUARY 2. 1902 and MARCH 5. 1904 flanking the portrait.
