Obverse description An ornate cartouche-shaped silver fob medal suspended from a jump ring, with a scalloped border of scrollwork and foliate relief surrounding a central circular field. Within the field, a high-relief figure of a rugby player is depicted in mid-stride carrying the ball, set before rugby goalposts. A blank scroll cartouche at the base is reserved for engraving.
