Obverse description Hibernia seated facing slightly right in high relief, wearing a crested helmet and classical drapery, holding a spear in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left arm, with an Irish harp shield resting against her seat. The circular legend reads 'THE ROYAL DUBLIN SOCIETY' above, with the motto 'NOSTRI PLENA LABORIS' in a rectangular cartouche below the figure, and the foundation date 'A.D. 1731' in the exergue. The field is bordered by a beaded inner ring.
