Obverse description The arms of Cologne in high relief, featuring the shield charged with three crowns and eleven teardrops, surmounted by an elaborate plumed helm and surrounded by ornate acanthus scrollwork mantling. The circular legend around the beaded border reads INTERNATIONALE SPORT-AUSSTELLUNG KÖLN 1889. The medal has a suspension loop at the top.
