Obverse description Openwork cross-shaped medal with a circular band bearing the raised legend in relief. At the centre is a heraldic shield depicting the arms of the City of London. The terminals of the cross are decorated with floral emblems of the United Kingdom nations: a rose (top and bottom) for England, a thistle (right) for Scotland, and a shamrock (left) for Ireland. A suspension loop is fitted at the top.
