| Obverse description | A military trophy of arms in high relief occupies the field, comprising cannons, flags, spears, a drum, and a military tent arranged around a central oval shield bearing a sunburst, clasped hands, and a thistle. The shield is encircled by the Latin legend ARMIS AMICITIAQUE CONJUNCTI. The upper legend THE WESTERNS and lower date 23D NOVEMBER 1803 are engraved within the border. |
