Obverse description Central enamelled medallion bearing the official Festival of Britain logo: a multi-pointed compass star in red, white, and blue enamel with a diving Britannia bird figure at centre, encircled by the legend 'FESTIVAL OF BRITAIN' on a blue enamel band and the date '19 51' below. The central medallion is set within a textured gilt field framed by a relief laurel wreath on either side, with a ribbon scroll at the top and ornamental ring mounts at the top and bottom suspender.
