Obverse description A richly detailed allegorical composition centred on a sheaf of wheat flanked by crossed baker's peels, with loaves of bread and sacks of flour arranged in the upper field. Two flanking cartouches in low relief depict agricultural scenes: on the left a farmer ploughing with a horse-drawn plough, and on the right a labourer harvesting grain. Three large flour sacks dominate the central lower register, beneath which wheat ears and a decorative knot appear in the exergue. The maker's initials W.J.D. are visible in the lower right field.
