Reverse description A nearly nude figure of Apollo seated on a raised dais or throne, a lyre resting at his right side, extending his left hand to offer a laurel wreath to a robed student kneeling before him in supplication, holding an open book. The scene is rendered in finely detailed high relief, with the Latin legend arcing across the upper field and a three-line inscription occupying the lower exergue.
