Additional information

Rukn al-Din Ibrahim's reign lasted roughly a year before he was deposed and killed, making this issue one of the shortest-lived gold series from any Delhi sultan. He came to power after his father Jalal al-Din Firuz Shah I was murdered by his own nephew, Alauddin Khalji — the same man who would go on to become one of the most powerful rulers the Sultanate ever produced. The political violence surrounding Ibrahim's accession and removal compressed the entire minting window to a matter of months.
