| Reverse description | A schematic temple structure occupies the central field, depicted in frontal elevation with a distinctive superstructure (shikhara) and recessed doorway. A crescent moon symbol flanks the temple to one side, while a swastika — an auspicious symbol in Indian iconography — appears prominently at the top of the design. Two lamp posts or pillar-like elements flank the base of the temple on either side, lending a ceremonial character to the composition. The design is boldly struck in a flat, linear style typical of Deccan gold coinage of the early medieval period. |
