Reverse description A clasped right hands (dextrarum iunctio) motif occupies the central field, symbolizing the loyalty and solidarity between the emperor and his armies. The legend FIDES is inscribed across the upper field and EXERCITVVM across the lower field, divided by the handshake device. The type was a deliberate propaganda message affirming Vitellius's reliance on military support during the tumultuous Year of the Four Emperors. A beaded border frames the entire design.
Reverse script Latin

(Translation: Fides Exercituum Loyalty of the Army.)
