Obverse description Laureate bust of Titus facing right, rendered in high relief with fine naturalistic detail characteristic of early Flavian portraiture. The emperor's youthful features are clearly delineated, with a wreath of laurel leaves encircling the head. The circular legend surrounds the bust and runs along the beaded border of the coin. The field is smooth and unstruck areas retain the characteristic lustre of hammered gold.
