The emperor is depicted with a short beard and draped paludamentum visible at the shoulder. A beaded border frames the design. The encircling legend reads IMP TITVS CAES VESPASIAN AVG P M, giving the emperor's full titulature including his roles as supreme commander, Caesar, and Pontifex Maximus.
