| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Tetricus I facing left, rendered in high relief with carefully engraved details of the laurel wreath, paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, and underlying cuirass. The emperor is depicted with a short beard and individualized facial features characteristic of Gallic Empire portraiture. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP TETRICVS PIVS AVG, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The irregular, slightly serrated flan edge is typical of hurriedly produced Gallic Empire aurei of this period. |
