Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Nerva facing right, rendered with fine portraiture typical of the Flavian-Nervan transition, the wreath of laurel leaves clearly articulated around the brow. The aged, slightly gaunt features of the emperor are depicted with realistic detail, including a prominent nose and short beard. A draping is visible at the truncation of the neck. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise from the lower left, set within a fine beaded border.
