Obverse description Laureate bare head of the emperor Nerva facing right, rendered in a realistic, aged portrait style characteristic of Flavian-Nervan court engraving. The facial features convey advanced age with deeply carved lines, a hallmark of Nerva's numismatic portraiture. The legend encircles the effigy within a beaded border. The field is plain, with no additional decorative elements.

Reverse description The personification of Aequitas (Equity) stands facing, her head turned to the left, rendered in fine hammered relief against a plain field enclosed by a beaded border. She extends her right hand forward holding a balance scale, symbolising fairness and just governance, while her left arm cradles a large cornucopia, emblem of abundance. Her garments fall in flowing folds to her feet in the classical manner. The reverse legend, divided around the figure, records Nerva's second imperatorial acclamation and fourth consulship.
