Supreme commander (Imperator) Nerva, Caesar, emperor (Augustus), high priest, holder of tribunician power, consul for the third time, father of the nation.) |
| Reverse description | Fortuna, draped in a long chiton, standing left in a composed contrapposto pose, holding a ship's rudder set upon the ground in her extended right hand and a cornucopiae in her left arm, symbolising prosperity and divine favour for the emperor. The figure is rendered with fine drapery detail consistent with the classicising style of the Nervan period. The reverse legend is disposed in two lines or arced across the field above or around the figure. The exergue is plain. |
