Obverse description Youthful bare-headed draped bust of Nero as prince, facing right, depicted with soft boyish features characteristic of his early portraiture under Claudius. The effigy shows the subject in a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, rendered with fine detail in the hammered gold fabric. A beaded border frames the design, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery of the field.
