Obverse description Bare-headed, diademed bust of the Genius Populi Romani facing right, depicted as a mature, bearded male with richly curled hair and a diadem, the bare neck and shoulders rendered in high relief characteristic of late Julio-Claudian and early Flavian engraving. A sceptre is visible rising diagonally behind the bust. The encircling Latin legend reads GENIVS P R, distributed around the field with interpuncts separating the abbreviated words.
