| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Marcus Antonius facing right, rendered with strong portraiture typical of late Republican coinage. The legend surrounds the effigy in Latin capitals, reading M·ANT·IMP·AVG·III·VIR·R·P·C·M·BARBAT·Q·P, identifying Antony as Imperator, Augur, one of the Triumvirs for the reconstitution of the Republic, with the quaestor pro praetore Barbatius named. The field is plain and the coin is bordered by a well-defined ring of dots. |
