Obverse description Bare head of Marcus Antonius facing right, rendered with strong portraiture typical of late Republican coinage, showing short curled hair and a prominent jaw. The surrounding legend is divided by the portrait and reads in Latin capitals within a well-defined border of dots. The effigy is rendered in high relief with bold, individualized features characteristic of the triumviral period. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
