| Obverse description | Bare head of Lucius Livineius Regulus facing right, rendered in the portraiture style characteristic of late Republican coinage. The legend REGVLVS · PR · arcs around the left field, reading upward or downward depending on die variety, identifying the moneyer in his capacity as praetor. The effigy displays short-cropped hair with fine individual locks delineated across the crown and nape. The entire design is contained within a neat border of beaded dots encircling the flan. |
