Obverse description Laureate head of Licinius I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and laurel wreath. The emperor's portrait displays a strong, clean-shaven face with prominent features characteristic of the Tetrarchic artistic style. The obverse legend encircles the portrait field, reading LICINIVS AVGVSTVS. The flan edges are slightly irregular, typical of hammered gold coinage of the period.
