| Reverse description | Jupiter, nude and seated facing front upon a low throne, holds a Victory on globe in his extended right hand and a long vertical sceptre in his left, with a chlamys draped across his lap and lower limbs. An eagle with spread wings stands to the left at his feet, and a small captive figure crouches to the lower left, referencing imperial military victory. The field legend IOVI CONSER-VATORI CAESS encircles the design, invoking Jupiter as the divine protector of the Caesars. The exergue bears the mint signature SMNG (Sacra Moneta Nicomedia), with two lines of officina marks above reading S·I·C·V· and S·I·C·X·, denoting the fifth officina and the denomination value. The reverse composition reflects the canonical Jovian iconography associated with the Licinian dynasty. |
