| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered with fine portraiture characteristic of the Hadrianic period, the emperor depicted with his distinctive short beard and curly hair beneath the laurel wreath. The paludamentum is fastened at the right shoulder, and the cuirass with its decorative pteryges is visible at the truncation. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. |
