| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Hadrian facing right, draped over the left shoulder, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair crowned by a laurel wreath. The emperor's strong facial features and characteristic beard are clearly articulated in the Roman imperial portrait tradition. The circumferential legend reads IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG, distributed around the bust in crisp Latin capitals within a beaded border. The portrait conveys imperial authority and is characteristic of the early Hadrianic coinage struck at the Rome mint. |
