Fortuna is depicted in flowing drapery, holding a cornucopia in her left arm as an emblem of abundance and divine favor. The scene symbolizes the safe return of fortune to the empire, a common Hadrianic theme celebrating his travels and the prosperity they brought. The reverse legend is divided in the field and a fine beaded border frames the entire composition. |
