Obverse description Laureate, draped bust of Hadrian facing right, with a full curled beard rendered in fine, naturalistic detail characteristic of Hadrianic portraiture. The emperor is depicted with his characteristic square jaw and closely cropped curls, wearing a laurel wreath. The portrait exhibits high relief with confident, deeply cut modeling. The encircling legend reads HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, with HADRIANVS distributed to the left and AVGVSTVS to the right, all contained within a beaded border.
