Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair curls and a short beard characteristic of Hadrianic portraiture. The paludamentum is visible at the shoulder, fastened with a fibula, and the cuirass is suggested beneath the drapery. A beaded border frames the design. The imperial legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan.
