| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered with the emperor's characteristic full curled beard and short wavy hair. The portrait is executed in high relief with a naturalistic, Hellenistic-influenced style typical of Hadrianic court art. The bust is truncated at the shoulder, with the drapery visible at the lower edge. A beaded border frames the entire obverse field. The encircling Latin legend reads HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P. |
