Reverse description The reverse field features the honorary inscription S P Q R / OB C S arranged in two bold lines of Latin capitals, fully enclosed within a civic oak-wreath (corona civica), tied at the base with a ribbon. The oak-wreath, a symbol of the highest Roman civic honour awarded to one who saved the lives of citizens, is rendered with naturalistically overlapping leaves and acorns. A small pellet appears at the apex of the wreath. The composition is austere and deliberately propagandistic, evoking the Augustan tradition of constitutional legitimacy and the senate's recognition of Galba's rule.
