Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, rendered in high relief with characteristically aged and austere features typical of his portraiture. The effigy is draped at the shoulder, with the laurel wreath rendered in fine detail across the brow. The encircling legend in Latin reads SER GALBA IMP CAESAR AVG P M TR P, divided around the portrait within a beaded border. The engraving displays the bold, somewhat provincial style associated with the Spanish mint production of Galba's brief reign.
